Hey Comanches! After recent success at competitions, your favorite Canyon spirit leaders are ready to thank you for an incredible year. Beginning with Canyon’s Varsity Cheer Team, Captain Skylar Tynan says that the team “came together” more than ever this past season. This is not surprising with their outstanding performance at USA Nationals placing 4th out of 24 teams! The team also says that competition is always a highlight for cheer because it demonstrates all their hard work and team encouragement. JV captain, Ariana G, was thrilled to have her team win 1st place out of 24 teams! She was so proud of the team working together to achieve what seemed like an impossible goal.
The Cheer Banquet was a bittersweet event where laughs were heard and tears were shed. Reflecting on the past season the seniors of Canyon Cheer say that this was the best year yet. Ariana explained that hanging out as a team helped them deeply bond together. Although it was hard to see the seniors leave, they will always be connected.
Canyon Cheer encourages you to tryout for their award winning team on May 15-18 (must attend all days). They are offering an optional but highly recommended clinic on May 6 from 3:30-6pm. The clinic will be a $10 donation and the tryout will be a $5 donation. It is suggested to wear a black fitted top, black shorts or pants, white shoes, and a white bow. All information packets will be provided at Athletic Night.
