Canyon students face-rigorous classes, projects, and the ever-daunting AP Tests-it’s clear that many students need all the help they can get. Thankfully, there is a place on campus where one can receive all the knowledge, tech, and social atmosphere they need, the ever-present CHS Library!

The most obvious resource available to students is books (it is a library, after all). With over 1000 volumes to choose from, one is sure to find what they need, whether the book they’re seeking is for research or free reading. In addition to the mountains of printed pages, the library also maintains a fleet of computers, ready to strike out against the forces of stress and ignorance. Mrs. Fisher even allows the borrowing of technology from the library, with devices like laptops, iPads, and recording equipment at students’ disposal.

Perhaps its most important function, however, is the library’s place in the minds of CHS students as a place of comfort and socialization. During all hours of the school day, groups of students can be seen hanging out inside the library, enjoying the controlled climate, soft chairs, and general friendly atmosphere. It is this mindset that Mrs. Fisher prizes above all, wanting students to feel, “comfortable and loved” at all times. This sentiment is clearly not lost on staff and students. Library Aide Viktor Lazarev enjoys working in the library because, “It’s an area where you can chill with your friends. Mrs. Fisher and Ms. Tanobi are always there to help…” It’s clear to see that if student-based service is what you seek, the CHS Library is the place to be.
