This past week Freeform brought back two favorites: Switched at Birth and The Fosters. The two shows premiered episodes filled with juicy drama. For those who have been fans from the start, stakes are higher than ever. Anyone who has not yet seen either of the shows should redirect to dodge any possible spoilers. Now, grab a bucket of popcorn, sit back, and relax because these seasons are going to be good ones.

Switched at Birth had been on break since October of 2015. Viewers were left in suspense after the season finale where China-bound Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) received an urgent phone call telling them to come home. The new episode, titled The Call, puts many to ease and finally answers the question “What happened?” As it results, nothing too extreme has occurred, but of course, the girls’ return home precipitates a dramatic chain of events. Did they make a mistake in taking a year off to backpack in China? This final season of Switched at Birth will hopefully answer this question among others that have been lingering in the minds of followers. A reunion of “Bemmett”, or Bay and Emmett, would be very exciting to see. Lizzy Weiss, the show's executive producer, reassures "Bemmett" supporters that “they may end up together in the long run,” in an interview with tvline.com. Tune in to Freeform on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. to see how the story of the two sisters wraps up in Switched at Birth's fifth and final season.

The Fosters made it’s winter debut on January 31st. It had left off with an injured Jesus (Noah Centineo) and an abducted Callie (Maia Mitchell). This half of season 4 features Jude (Hayden Byerly) who, along side his new friend/love interest Noah (Kalama Epstein), is up to no good. Trouble is brewing in the Adams-Foster family as Jesus’ life is in critical condition. Jasmine Blu, a writer for tvfanatic.com, recaps that Jesus may suffer “personality changes, [or] relearning how to walk and talk.” In addition to their issues, there is the factor that Callie is currently involved in an accident with a man who could bring her serious harm. Many viewers are questioning whether or not Callie will be able to seek justice for Jack, a foster child that was murdered by his foster parent due to the broken system. Will Jesus make it? Only time will tell. Catch The Fosters at 8 p.m. every Tuesday on Freeform.
