All of Mrs. May's students have been extremely busy preparing for what has been, and will continue to be, a very active couple of months. Choir put on a very successful Coffee House early in the year, a Fall Concert in October, and a joyous Winter Concert in December. Each show holds a celebratory energy and features a plethora of voices, making each performance a wonderful experience!

Choir has also had various performance opportunities, including visits to living homes, Dave and Busters, and other social events to sing for audiences.Their presence in Orange County is extremely prevalent because of their participation in the community and overall efforts.

Continuous hard work and practices created a show that Choir was extremely proud to present to CHS, A Valentine’s Concert on Friday, February 10th at 7:00 PM. The Valentine’s Concert was filled with performances by many of Canyon's talented students. Choir student Adriana Garcia stated, "it was a much more relaxed vibe than our traditional concerts!". The theme of the Valentine’s Choir Concert was DESSERT, which meant that there was a large buffet of treats with unlimited hot chocolate that one could indulge in as you watched the awe-inspiring performances. What a sweet way to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Following this Valentine’s Concert will be the Spring Concert on March 6th and 7th. The Spring Show is expected to be the most advanced repertoire of the year. The reasoning behind this? All of the unique pieces will have a pure message behind them. The theme is "hope" and thus the music will have a very raw and human feeling to it. After this masterpiece, the Choir performance season will conclude with a Broadway Showcase. Students report that it is the most extravagant show of the year. “It is most appealing because of its grandeur," Timothy Cunningham, Choir Officer President, reports. "I'm looking most forward to showcase because it's always the most exciting show." The show also receives a lot of appraisal, since the large majority is familiar with the Broadway tunes that are known from plays or movies.

Choir and Mrs. May have done an excellent job thus far in every show, and they will continue to "wow" the students of Canyon High School. Be sure to show your Comanche spirit and support your fellow classmates!
