There is no motivation to read or write this article. Aaah, the sweet smell of senior year season floats through the hallways of Canyon High School, as students complete their first semester. Second Semester Senior year marks an important transition for students all over the country: a time in which most seniors feel as if they can swiftly “cruise” through the remainder of the year. Little effort is made, as seniors anxiously wait for their acceptances to come in the mail beginning in March. What is it about this Senioritis though, that seems to affect everyone?

“For me, it feels as if I have finally reached my sense of independence,” Canyon High School student, Khushi Arora states. “It is a time in my life where I feel I am ready to move on - move forward - and start new beginnings.” Some students also have already received acceptances, if they applied for early action or early decision. This allows some to coast by exerting the bare minimum amount of effort.

Exciting times await the Seniors all around the United States. All the perseverance since the beginning of time is finally going to pay off for the people who have set goals for themselves. For most seniors, now is the time to relax in the comfort of the familiar because in just a couple of months, their entire lifestyle will transition to one full of freedom and opportunity with new friends, schedules, and adventures.

Unfortunately, those who have to deal with the unmotivated and rebellious seniors at this time probably are not as thrilled. Give them a break, though - they do deserve some pity. We have all been there before.

Best of luck to the Class of 2017!
