Special Holiday Treats

The holidays are just around the corner. The streets will be filled with red and green lights; there will be smiles on everyone’s faces. Some people may say that this is the best and happiest time of year. Holiday music will be blasting and most importantly festive foods are back! Many holidays parties will be held and so a recap on what to serve is in order.
There is no need to buy desserts when you can easily make some in your own kitchen! Homemade holidays desserts are not only delicious, but adorable as well. A student, Kieana Shao, enjoys holidays desserts because “it makes the holiday experience more exciting”.
Christmas Tree Brownies Ingredients:
1 box of brownie mix
1 tub of white vanilla icing
green food coloring
small round sprinkles
small star sprinkles
candy canes.
Begin with an 8"x8” baking pan and spray it with cooking spray.
Prepare brownie mix by following the package directions and bake them as instructed.
Allow the brownies to cool for about one and a half hours.
Take the brownies out of the pan and cut them into triangles in three alternating rows.
Remove the candy canes from their wrappers.
Using a sharp knife, cut the candy canes into one and a half long pieces.
Adjust the straight end of the candy cane into the bottom of the brownies.
With a spoon, take out about half of the tub of icing into a bowl.
Add green food coloring until you are satisfied with the given color.
Put the green icing into a Ziploc bag.
Close the bag and cut off a small piece of the corner of the Ziploc bag.
Slowly squeeze out the icing in a curvy zigzag as you go from top to bottom on the tree.
Place any sprinkles that you like, and add a star sprinkle on the top.

Christmas Tree Oreo pops
Ingredients:
double stuffed Oreos
sucker sticks
vanilla almond bark or white chocolate chips
green candy melts
regular sprinkles and star sprinkles.
Melt some of the vanilla bark or white chocolate chips in a bowl.
Dip a part of the Oreo into the vanilla bark or white chocolate.
Making sure not to break the Oreo, put a sucker stick into the Oreo.
Place this on wax paper and repeat with the other Oreos.
Melt some of the green candy melt in a Ziploc bag.
Cut off the corner of the bag and sway the green candy back and forth to create a Christmas tree.
Before the candy melts, add various sprinkles and a star sprinkle.

As you can see, these desserts are easy to make. Homemade desserts are more creative, impress friends and family, and put you in the holiday spirit. Allow your holidays to be greater by adding some imaginative desserts that will be hard to stop eating. Your holidays will then definitely be sweeter.
