Most of us know Mr. Reyes- Room 302. Whether you have been with him in his Digital Arts, Graphic Novels, or Art History classes, there's a good chance Mr. Reyes had some sort of influence on your art education.
I had him as an instructor for the majority of my high school years, from Digital Arts as a freshman, to the Graphic Novels and now Animation. I can surely say Mr. Reyes has seen my art grow.

Mr. Reyes started teaching in 2006, which can be seen on the jersey he often wears. But what I was surprised to find out when interviewing him is that he started teaching right here at Canyon High school ten years ago!
Mr. Reyes received his degree in Art Education, contrary to his usual jokes. He said, "It was a two in one, and now, I can teach anything art related-oh- except for music."
Mr. Reyes says his favorite part of being a teacher is watching his students succeed. His least favorite, "that's a tough one," he replied, "I just dislike when students waste their time, just taking the class to get an art credit without trying to actually learn anything and not putting much effort in." In his free time Mr. Reyes says he likes to stay active and enjoys, "going to the gym and pretending to lift weights."
When I asked him what inspired him to be a teacher, he said, "I think I have a lot to offer and I want to share my knowledge to those who can put it to good use." And I for one, am very glad Mr. Reyes decided to teach here at Canyon and share his knowledge with us!
