Video games might not be everybody’s thing. When most people think of video games, they think of HD first-person shooter with violence as the main focus, and that’s cool too. It’s just not everyone’s cup of tea. What’s really important is to remember that there are a lot of different genres of video games. My personal favorite is called a “Pixel RPG” and is basically a "gameboy-esque" looking game with different plot lines.

One of the best Pixel RPG’s I have played is, “Stardew Valley.” It’s a beautiful game with carefully crafted landscaped made entirely out of pixels. The soundtrack is full of 8-bit themes that will make you feel nothing but nostalgic, in the best way of course.

This little game is about inheriting your grandfather’s old farm. Wanting to take a break from the stresses of modern life, your character catches the next train and shows up to their new home, Stardew Valley. It’s a cozy little town with tons of achievements to accomplish! It’s a really exciting game because it has so, so many unique activities to do. You can socialize with the villagers living in the town who all have different characteristics. If you like, you can work on the farm and take care of the farm animals. If you feel like spending time by the seaside, you can go fishing and try your luck.

This game is also really interesting because it focuses on the theme of old ways and traditions versus new progress. The best part is that the decision is up to you!
