Fall is here and it's the perfect time for baking since the weather is cooling down, so here are some DIY cupcake decorations just for you!

Owl Cupcake (babble.com)
1. Frost the cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
2. Twist 2 Oreos so you have the side with all the filling on top, and take them
and place it on the cupcake.
3. Take 2 brown M&Ms and place one on the center of each Oreo for the center of the eye.
4. Finally, take an orange M&M and place it between the two Oreos for the beak of the owl.
Difficulty: 0/10
This one was super easy to create and requires no experience.
Pumpkin Decoration (bindybee.com)

1. Ice the cupcake with orange frosting and then make indents for some texture.
2. Use a pretzel to replicate the stem. I didn't have pretzels, so I just used a bit of chocolate frosting.
3. The recipe calls for a green spearmint candy, but you could substitute it with a green M&M, which is what I did for the leaf.
Difficulty: 5/10
I thought this one would be the easiest, but it was really hard. I think the frosting was too thin to work with and it was difficult to do the indents. My advice is to refrigerate the frosting before frosting.
Leaf Decoration (pintsizedbaker.com)

1. Put white frosting in a piping bag and draw stripes of food coloring in the bag.
2. Swirl the frosting on the cupcake.
3. For the leaf topping, melt some chocolate and draw out chocolate leaves on some wax paper.
4. Wait for them to harden in the freezer, peel it off, and stick it on top of the frosting.
Difficulty: 10/10
This was the hardest cupcake to make. The food coloring was hard to get in the bag and it didn't end up looking at all like the picture. The chocolate leaf wasn't too hard to make but it melted as soon as it came out of the freezer.

Fox Decoration (Wilton.com)
I got this idea from Wilton.com, but I did not use the same directions since I didn't have any icing tips. I frosted the cupcakes and then I used a bag with the corner cut off to put white icing for the cheeks and lastly used chocolate chips and M&Ms for the nose and eyes.
Difficulty: 3/10
It wasn't too hard to make, but once again I would put the frosting in the fridge so it looks better.
